Stand Out.

Build Trust.

Connect to Capital.

In an increasingly crowded impact landscape, credibility is the key to capital.

IEL’s Impact Authenticity Score (IAS) and Impact Navigator Database help fund managers validate their strategies, strengthen investor confidence, and connect with allocators seeking authentic impact.

Why It Matters

Investors need evidence, not just intention.

Without credible, third-party validation, even high-performing funds risk being overlooked. The Impact Authenticity Score (IAS) offers a consultative, evidence-based evaluation of how consistently a fund delivers on its stated mission and financial goals — giving allocators a trusted signal and fund managers a strategic edge.

The Impact Authenticity Score

A Standard for Credibility and Growth

The Impact Authenticity Score is a first-of-its-kind, comprehensive, evidence-based assessment. This methodology goes far beyond impact metrics – it considers a fund’s mission alignment and impact integration, team composition and experience, impact execution, and financial performance. It delivers the same caliber of data and decision-making frameworks allocators expect across any asset class, giving investors and advisors a clear, standardized way to evaluate, compare, and discover credible strategies that deliver both financial performance and authentic impact.

The IAS examines 49 weighted metrics across three key dimensions:

  • Mission Fidelity – How closely investment strategy reflects the fund’s stated purpose.

  • Impact Execution – Rigor and effectiveness of impact measurement, management, and reporting.

  • Financial Performance – Track record of achieving stated financial return targets.

Impact Fund Managers We’ve Worked With

I really valued the framework design that you created. And you also taught me some language that I hadn’t really been thinking about in terms of how we’re investing… It is possible for us to achieve a more sustainable economy. It takes work, it takes commitment, and it takes companies, but also their investors, to support those companies.
— Tim Dunn, Co-Founder CIO Terra Alpha Investments

What They’re Saying

It’s always helpful to have a third party assessment and to have someone outside the organization… So, we really took it seriously, and we went line by line and we were able to create…a scorecard to measure, not only the financial return but also that impact that our partners are having.
— Fiorella Diaz, Communications & Social Impact Manager WCCN
It was basically the wild west in impact investing. I think our intention to work with IEL is in part a response to the shifting maturity of the impact industry and our interest in having a third party verification to demonstrate that we are, in fact, leaders in this space and have someone come in, look through all of our systems practices, but also our financial performance and really understand if we’re walking the talk.
